King James' Arrival in Denver Makes for an interesting Nuggets & Cavs Matchup

King James appears to have his sights set on a new destination

The King is in town.Forgive me if I'm not prepared to bow down and 'hail the almighty.'

Call me a hater, call me whatever.

I’m sick of the media infatuation with Lebron and all the predictions of where he’ll end up in two years.

I’m ready to see the Nuggets silence all the hype. I’m ready to shake Charles Barkley’s hand and thank him for speaking out, saying exactly what I was thinking.

First off Lebron is an amazing talent – an athlete that is doing things and dominating his sport at an age no one has ever seen before. The thought of matching him up against Kenyon (last year’s playoff defensive assignment vs. Kobe), Dahntay Jones, or J.R. Smith down right scares me.

Reyns Gems Weekly Dancer Pick

Nicole of the Denver Nuggets

Nicole (Denver Nuggets)

This scorching hot babe from Boulder has been with the Nuggets squad for three seasons now.

She says she started dancing at the age of two, which is at least what her parents tell her. Nicole became a Nuggets dancer because she always aspired to take her dancing to the professional level and finds this the ultimate accomplishment.

Most people do not know that Nicole has visited Hawaii more times than any other state in the U.S.

On her days off Nicole can be found studying, checking her fantasy leagues teams, watching Friends episodes, or standing in line at Starbucks with her mother.

Dear Santa,

I know I’ve been a bad boy this year. 5-7 and not a bowl game in sight. I know you’re always complaining about the cold up there but you should see how long of a winter it’s going to be down here as well.

Enclosed is my Christmas list.

P.S. In no particular fashion.

1) Tell the numbskull scheduling our non-conference games to lay off the Florida State’s, Miami’s, Georgia’s, LSU’s, and West Virginia’s for awhile. Instead, give me some more Division One, Subdivision teams. Wait…no, bad idea.

Carmelo AnthonyCarmelo AnthonyDenver Nuggets Wrap Up

12/14-12/20

 Chauncey Billups

I was on my way to the blog when I decided to take a swing by centsports.com and see how my bets were doing.

Bad call.

Sometime around 12 or 1 last night, I thought it would be bright to risk two of my hard earned $3.74 on a soccer game taking place over in France. The problem? I couldn’t tell you a thing about soccer. So why did I do it? Easy, a -200 favorite seemed tempting.

 Natalie (Miami Heat)

This gorgeous brunette, with a mixed Cuban/Argentinean nationality has been with the Heat dance team for two years now.

Natalie, a full-time student and dancer, lives by the quote, “life blows so enjoy the breeze.”

This is one breeze you do not want to miss.

Denver Nuggets: Week in Review

December 21-December 27

Carmelo Anthony sat out three games this week.

The Carmelo-less Nuggets kicked off the week of December 21st with a much needed win at home against Portland.

The win snapped a three-game skid (longest of the season) and proved Denver could get the job done without their star player. However, the following night the Nuggets found it tough sledding against the very same Portland team, dropping a difficult road test 92-101.

The division split against the Trailblazers is exactly what I predicted and hoped would happen against a very solid basketball club. The supporting cast proved their value, seeing incredible efforts especially from the Nuggets #1 X-Factor, J.R. Smith.

J.R. Smith Got Screwed

Reyns Gems

J.R. Smith is not getting the love he deserves

While the NBA has arguably the greatest All-Star game, the recent selections in the skill competitions have me fuming.

Last year’s NBA All-Star week, highlighted by Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard and the slam dunk competition brought back whispers of ‘the dunk contest being back.’

Not exactly.

The dunk contest last year was entertaining and very creative, but not a resurrection.

Here’s why:

The current NBA dunk contests are not worthy of all-time greats UNTIL the real stars of the league participate in them.
