The fact that Purdue won this game wasn't a surprise. The way they did was.
The Boilermakers led by 19 at the half on a dominating shooting performance. Purdue hit on 26 of 54 shots including 6-14 three pointers. Baylor shot horribly going 13-44 including a forgettable 2-11 from the arc.
Baylor starts a high flying almost five-guard line up but the Purdue defense rose to the occasion and showed very good speed and lane discipline. Baylor's Curtis Jerrells did put up a game high 27 points but he got little help.
Purdue was solid across the board; 49% from the field, 45% from the arc and 83% from the line. They have Xavier next who survived a scare from 14 seed Georgia earlier today.
Xavier will have to play better than they did today. The Boilermakers are much deeper than Georgia and a second half collapse isn't likely.
