Warrick Dunn Back to Tampa Bay

Dunn is headed back to Tampa for what is clearly his swan's song of an NFL career that has been much better than most people think.

In the history of the NFL only 23 men have topped 10,000 yards rushing. Quietly, Dunn entered that elite club last year. Only five accomplished that on less than 2460 carries. He split his career between Tampa and Atlanta and now he is undoubtedly planning to end it where he started it.

Dunn just turned 33 and given his experience and third down ability, it is not beyond imagination to see him playing for at least two more years. What would that mean?

If he runs for just 700 yards next year, he will eclipse the likes of Otis Anderson, Eddie George, Tiki Barber and Ricky Waters. A little over a thousand and he passes OJ Simpson. Two decent years and he has the likes of Riggins, Thomas and Harris in his sights.

His career yards per carry is already equal to or better than a few folks that are in the Hall of Fame. Dunn's career YPC is 4.1. Compare that with John Riggins (3.9), Franco Harris (4.1), and Marcus Allen (4.1).

So, is Warrick Dunn a Hall of Famer? Or is he just a durable back that quietly packed up a bunch of numbers?
